Russian Ilim Timber acquires Klausner’s KHB and KNT mills

According to the agreement, signed by the leading Russian forestry company Ilim Timber and the German Klausner Group, Ilim Timber acquires two of Klausner’s sawmills - Klausner Holz Bayern and Klausner Nordic Timber. Mills production capacities are respectively 800 thous. and 1100
thous. m3 of sawn timber per year.
According to the arrangements Ilim Timber also acquires a set of brand new Linck sawmill equipment with production capacity of 600 thous.m3 per year. The equipment had been ordered by Klausner Group, but was not installed due to of the world economic crisis.
Ilim Timber plans to continue operations on the both mills in Germany and achieve maximum capacity. The set of brand new equipment will be used for the brown field project in Siberia (Irkutsk region) upgrading existing Ilim Timber production facility till the end of 2011.

Ilim Timber was established in 2007 and consolidated former woodworking assets of the largest Russian forestry corporation Ilim Pulp. Ilim Timber produces annually over 520,000 cubic metres of commodity timber, over 145,000 cubic metres of plywood and 45 million square metres of fiberboard. Ilim Timber develops wood frame house construction projects, providing affordable
housing for the growing Russian market and exports semi-finished products to fast-growing Asian markets, mainly China.
